I recently had some success with my new gigapan robot. Got what I deemed the perfect camera to go with it (Canon Powershot SX110IS 9MP with 10x optical zoom) and dragged it out into the field. I can't embed the images in the blog and am working on getting them on my website. For now you can see them at the following links:

The former one could be larger; the latter one is not thrilling, but it was the only windless place that day.
Turns out that the Gigapan Robot is out of beta...it costs a bit more but looks more finished.

I have to say, I find it totally bizarre that this device is unable to accommodate SLRs. Even the upcoming "EPIC 100" will be unable to accommodate large lenses! Why would I spend $400 on a device to wheel around a crappy $200 point-and-shoot? I can't imagine it would be very difficult to beef it up to support a real camera.
Is it a Blogger problem that's preventing you from embedding the GigaPans? I've been able to embed them in my Wordpress blog (self-hosted). If you're having any troubles embedding them in other web pages shoot me an e-mail and I'll see what I can do to help you out.
@Stephen re: GigaPan DSLR support. Be patient, it's in the works. Although the initial models are designed for point and shoot cameras they are aimed at making this technology accessible to a general public (non-professional) audience, in keeping with the goals of the Global Connection Project, from whence the project got its initial funding. They know there's a lot of interest in a DSLR version of the GigaPan Robot and it's being developed. Don't know for sure, but I think their target date for DSLR support is late this year.
Now if they made the so called "robot" look like the old 8 bit Nintendo R.O.B. I would own it already

Ron...yes it appears to be a blogger issue. I will try my website next, but think google may resist this type of embedding. One day I may graduate to more flexible format.
Stephen...i hear you and fully expected that the GP robot would accept higher quality cameras. Nonetheless, as a field geologist that carries a lot of gear, I am totally content with my small camera.
